Trap Team

Trap Team

The Badger Trap Team is a fun and competitive team that competes in the discipline of American Trap in the Scholastic Clay Target Program. The SCTP provides student athletes with a supportive environment where shooting sports serve as a catalyst for teaching life lesson and skills that emphasize positive character traits and values. The team competes in the Southeast WI Youth Trap Shooting Conference consisting of 14 area high school teams and is led by certified and credentialed adult volunteer coaches. Practices start in February and the Conference Shoot Out, State Championship, and National Championships occur in June and mid-July. Team members range in experience from beginners who have never shot previously to very experienced shooters.  The athletes learn gun safety, safe firearm handling, and become better shooters through a lot of hard work and practice. Team members do not need to have a gun to compete and do not need prior shooting experience, however the Wis. DNR Hunter Safety course prior to joining the team is highly recommended.   Timeframe: Mid February to Mid July
