AP Environmental Science

AP Environmental Science is designed to be the equivalent of a one semester, introductory college course in environmental science and specifically intended for those students who intend to take the College Board AP Environmental Exam in spring. This course will provide students with research experience as well as the scientific principles, concepts and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and man made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them now and in the future. Laboratory investigations both indoors and out are an essential component of the course. Students in this class may choose to take the AP test in the spring.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
Any student that is interested in a college based career of Natural Resources or Ecology. Students that are interested in a Biology based career are also encouraged to take the class.

WHAT KNOWLEDGE WILL BE GAINED?
Students will gain a deeper understanding of the environment and world around them. Students should also develop better critical thinking skills of how to solve and influence these environmental issues.
