AP Calculus AB is the first course in a sequence of three courses in calculus and analytic
geometry which is designed to closely parallel the content of university mathematics
programs which are required of freshmen and sophomores in mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering. Calculus topics include limits, differentiation and integration of both algebraic and transcendental functions, including trigonometric functions, with applications. Analytic geometry topics are limited to lines and circles. The course will emphasize concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
The students enrolled in this class have successfully completed an Honors Pre-Calculus course. A grade of B or better in Honors Pre-Calculus is recommended for this class.
WHAT KNOWLEDGE WILL BE GAINED?
After completion of the course, you can participate in the National AP Testing Program in May. This test enables you to receive possible college credits and/or Advanced Placement.
