Junior prom is just around the corner! We would like to take this opportunity to talk about some changes to this year’s prom. This year prom will be held at Grand Geneva Resort on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Prior to the dance, we will host a grand march and crown the prom king and queen in the Badger High School auditorium for parents, friends, and family. Students will be required to ride a bus from Badger to the Grand Geneva. This is a parking and safety precaution; therefore, students will not be permitted to drive themselves to Grand Geneva. Students must park their vehicles in the student lot by district office. Check-in, for prom attendees, will begin at 5:00 at Badger. The grand march will begin at 5:45. A formal dinner and dance will take place in the Forum at Grand Geneva from 7:00-11:00. Bus transportation back to Badger will be provided starting at 9:30 p.m.

Two Badger High School students have advanced as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program and will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2023. Joshua Schooley and Erin Hensler each receive a Certificate of Merit from The National Merit Scholarship Program for this achievement.

Twenty-nine students from Badger High School competed at the Wisconsin DECA State Career Development Conference on February 27- March 1st. DECA members traveled to Grand Geneva Resort to compete in 28 occupational series events as well as prepared written project presentations. Over 1,400 students from Wisconsin participated in this conference. Fifteen Badger DECA members were recognized on stage by earning medals in either their 100-question cluster test, one of the two role-play events in their event category, or a top ten finalist medal. Our chapter members captured 25 individual medals. Ten members earned a champion medal for placing first through tenth place in their event.

The ACT will be held on March 7th, 2023, and will be administered electronically using Chromebooks. This will be a day for Juniors only; Freshman, Sophomores and Seniors will have no school on this day. The PreACT Secure will be held on April 18th, 2023. Juniors and Senior students will have no school on this day.

Students from area schools will participate in a Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) sanctioned District Solo & Ensemble Music Festival hosted at Lake Geneva Middle School on Saturday, March 4, 2023. During the festival, which is free and open to the public, students will perform vocal and instrumental solos, duets, trios and small ensembles before an adjudicator.

Lucy Pether, a Junior at Badger High School, has been selected to represent Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, as a National Youth Delegate to the 2023 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.

The Badger High School Academic Team had an outstanding performance in the Southern Lakes Conference Academic Bowl on February 13, 2023. The Badger team took 2nd place with an overall score of 860. (1st place - Waterford Score - 868, 2nd place - Badger Score - 860, 3rd place - Westosha Score - 851). There are eight teams in the conference.

Badger High School announces the 2022-2023 semester one Honor Rolls. The Honor Rolls are based on grade point average (GPA). Students who earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher will be listed on High Honors. Students who earn at least 3.3 but less than a 3.8 GPA will be listed on Honors. Honor rolls are determined at the end of each semester.

Badger Theater Presents the Winter Play "Common Ground" February 16, 17, 18 at 7:00PM in the Badger Recital Hall. Set in a coffee shop, the first Act shows the various interactions of high schoolers as they navigate their thoughts, relationships and interests. Mostly comedic, the play highlights the daily life of teenagers. Act 2 shifts to adult interactions in the coffee shop. Through a series of 6 short scenes, various comedic moments are shared. Relationships, friendships, and daily struggles play out in the coffee shop. Seating is limited to 150 each night as the recital hall will be transformed into a working coffee shop with coffee, Italian Sodas and other offerings available to the audience. Tickets are available online or at the door; be sure to get yours in advance to secure a seat.

It is again that time when the Badger FFA is selling delicious, fresh from the field strawberries. These strawberries are the first picks from Plant City, FL, the strawberry capital of the world! Strawberries are picked and placed on a truck to Wisconsin usually on the same day. The Florida Farm Bureau works with family farms to bring us these great strawberries directly.

The Badger High School Technology Education Department will receive a prestigious “Program Excellence Award,” sponsored by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEAA). The award is among the highest honors given to technology and engineering programs. It is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession and students in superior K-12 technology and engineering education programs around the world.

On Friday, October 21st, Badger High School students from Mrs. Franks' Botany Classes, Mr. Neuser's Classes, Ms. Freeman's SEAL Class, and the Badger Butterfly Effect Club planted yellow tulip bulbs throughout the outdoor spaces at Badger High School.

Badger High School (BHS) offers transcripted credit courses allowing students to gain college credit while they earn high school credit. Last year through the transcripted credit offerings at Badger, BHS students saved over half of a million dollars in tuition at Gateway Technical College through our special program(s).

Over 350 third graders from Central-Denison, Star Center, Randall, Traver, Brookwood, and Woods Schools spent time learning about agriculture science at Badger High School on Friday, October 14th. The hands-on experience exposes the children to the career pathways in the world of agriculture and excites them for when they will be students at the high school.

Badger High School is joining schools, early care centers, colleges, hospitals, and other organizations across the Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio in the eighth annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. Participants celebrate National Farm to School Month and local farmers by crunching into locally grown apples Thursday, October 13, 2022!

Badger High School Performing Arts presents their fall musical, Big Fish. Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Badger High School Senior Tinker Trent has been named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Badger High School students Erin Hensler and Joshua Schooley were named Semifinalists in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®). Hensler and Schooley are among 16,000 Semifinalists in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered next spring.

Do you have questions on how to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)? The FAFSA is the form a student needs to complete to apply for financial aid, such as grants and loans. Plan to attend a College Goal Wisconsin event in-person or virtually to receive free information and assistance completing the FAFSA.

Anna Wollaeger, a Badger High School student earned a Corporate-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship. Anna was one of 1,000 distinguished high school seniors around the United States to earn the honor.

Road work will begin on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the intersection of State Highway 120 and Bloomfield Road. A four-way stoplight will be installed at the busy intersection. The road work will result in roadway closings that will affect many families' school and summer activities commutes. Please review the details and the map for specifics. The driveways for Lake Geneva Middle School will be open. We apologize for the inconvenience; however, we know in the long term this new stoplight will make for a safer intersection for our students, families and the Lake Geneva community. Badger DECA had twelve members qualify to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from April 23-27. There were approximately 16,000 people attending this annual event and it was the first in-person conference since 2019.

Congratulations to Christian Jensen, Badger High School Graduate - 2000, for his recent induction into the Badger Wall of Success! On April 22, Christian toured Badger and spent the morning speaking with students before enjoying his induction reception with his family.

Tuesday April 19th, all Freshmen will be taking the ACT Aspire Test. This will test their knowledge in English, Math, Science Reading and Writing. The test will be taken on your child's school issued chromebook. Please remind them tonight to fully shut down their chromebook, charge it and bring both their chromebook and charger to school tomorrow morning, as well as a calculator for the math section. Students got notice today of where to report tomorrow morning at 7:40am for testing.

Bethany Schuldt has been named the Distinguished Young Woman of Lake Geneva for 2023. Bethany is a junior at Lake Geneva Badger High School. Bethany is the daughter of Jennyfer and Jason Schuldt of Lake Geneva.

Congratulations to Badger High School AgriScience Instructor Candice Franks who has been named a Herb Kohl Foundation Teacher. The selection committee for the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Student Scholarship, Teacher Fellowship and Principal Leadership program announced recipients of the 291 Herb Kohl Foundation awards for Wisconsin students, teachers, and principals. Awards of $6,000 are being made to 100 teachers, 17 principals, and their schools, and $10,000 scholarship will be given to 174 graduating high school students.

All 10th grade students will be completing the state mandated Forward Exam next week in their social studies class on either Tuesday, April 12 or Wednesday, April 13.

Badger Auto Students Jeremiah Clevenger and Josh Machac placed 3rd in the state finals of the Auto Dealers Association - Technicians of Tomorrow Competition held at the Milwaukee Auto Show on Friday, March 4, 2022.

This is a reminder that Wisconsin students in grade 11 will be participating in the ACT with writing assessment. Our school is scheduled to take the ACT with writing on Tuesday, March 8th. All students, in-person and those online, should report to Badger at 7:40 am on March 8th. In-person students will be notified of their rooms on Monday, March 7th during their 3rd hour class. Virtual students will need to check in at the main office on March 8th to determine which room they will report to that day.

The Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation recently announced Jamie Lutz, Family and Consumer Science Teacher at Badger High School in Lake Geneva, as the 2022 Wisconsin ProStart® Educator of the Year. The award recognizes an exceptional educator in Wisconsin who utilizes the ProStart program in their classroom.

Badger High School Senior Eric Thometz Wins Scholastic Art Competition Awards The 2022 Wisconsin Scholastic Art Competition awarded Eric Thometz with two Golden Key and one Honorable Mention Awards in the Photography category. Eric's artwork will be featured in The Scholastic Art Awards Wisconsin Exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) from February 5th through March 20, 2022. Visitors to the MAM can see his work in person, along with other Wisconsin high school recipients.

A total of 30 students participated in the Southeastern Wisconsin DECA Career Development Conference held at Racine Case High School on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Walworth County Health & Human Services will host a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Eastview Elementary School (535 Sage Street, Lake Geneva) from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Badger High School will be dismissing all students at 10:00 a.m. today, Friday, December 17, 2021. This early dismissal comes as Badger High School was informed of a threat at Badger High School as part of the nationwide TikTok Challenge promoting national school violence on Friday, December 17, 2021.

Saturday, December 4, 2021 marks an early sighting of Santa Claus in the Badger High School Commons. The Music Department fundraiser runs from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Plenty of music and youth activities surround the family breakfast, an annual event at the school.

This past weekend, the One Act Play, Challenger: To Touch the Face of God, performed at the State Theater Competition held at UW Stevens Point. The play advanced through district and sectional rounds in October and November.

On Friday, November 19, 2021, the Northern Illinois University (NIU) Jazz Orchestra will perform at Badger High School. The FREE concert, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature NIU, Badger, and Delavan-Darien Jazz Band performances.

Today officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSCR) announced the names of two Badger High School Seniors who have qualified among approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 67th National Merit Scholarship Program. Nolan Cassidy and Thomas Whowell are among the academically talented high school seniors with an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring.

​“The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW)” announced that Luke Abrams, Christopher Bakken, and TJ Walton of Badger High School are 2021 Academic-All State honorees. Students are submitted by GCAW coaches if they meet the following criteria: 1) A cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, 2) participation in at least 75% of their team’s varsity matches, and 3) are a sophomore, junior or senior, and 4) is a student-athlete who has served as a great example to others, proving that athletic and academic success are not mutually exclusive.

Badger and the Lake Geneva Jt. #1 Schools will be offering e-registration again this summer beginning August 2, 2021. E-registration is a convenient approach to student registration which minimizes most of the paperwork collected at the August registration/open house events held at each of the schools. E-registration streamlines such things as picking up calendars, schedules, paying fees, filling out last-minute forms, etc. If you do not have a computer, each school will provide times when you may use theirs. As a result of community input and other health-related factors, face coverings will become optional for all students, staff, and visitors inside our schools and facilities effective Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Lake Geneva Schools received input from parents, employees, and the local community on how these individuals would like our school districts to move forward with our face covering (mask) policy for Summer School and the Fall of 2021. The survey was open from May 17, 2021 until May 21, 2021. The survey responses were taken into consideration as well as health recommendations and requirements.
