This course is organized into six themes (units), as selected by the College Board for the AP Language and Culture course: Global Challenges; Science and Technology; Contemporary Life; Personal and Public Identities; Families and Communities; and Beauty and Aesthetics. Within each theme, students work on all aspects of communication: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Activities include the three modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal and presentational. The cultures of France and the francophone world are embedded into the units of study to promote cultural literacy through the use of literature, texts, films, music, audio files, the Internet, and other media. The purpose of this course is to promote proficiency in communicating in French and to prepare students for the AP French exam and to earn college credit. Students enrolling in the course as French 202 (College Credit in High School through UW-Green Bay), earning a B or better, will earn 14 university credits. The cost of the course is $300, which will be reimbursed to the student upon successful completion of the course with a B or better. Please contact Mrs. Busch for more information.
