Badger High School Academic & Career Portfolio Program
Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills.
Students at Badger High School in Lake Geneva graduate with a comprehensive Academic & Career Portfolio based upon their interests, strengths and individual educational plan. The purpose of this requirement is to encourage students to showcase quality academic work, discover their strengths, set meaningful achievement goals, and understand the relationship between academic achievement in high school and postsecondary career and educational opportunities. The goal of the program is to produce responsible graduates who will begin their adult life with the knowledge, skills, motivation and a self-directed plan for career and lifelong success.
An Internet-based, electronic portfolio program called Xello, formerly known as Career Cruising, is used to organize and manage information for the Career & Academic Portfolio Program. Badger students use their portfolios when applying for local & area scholarships in the spring, to support college applications, state & national scholarship applications, applications for employment, and for membership in organizations like National Honor Society, DECA, FFA and more. Students will be able to use their portfolios after graduating from high school, too.
